From my experience as a naval officer serving in 2 police actions, I have found a deep tradition of irish in the marine corp , it stems back from ww2 when irish enlisted to fight 3rd world midgets instead of being drafted to fight the real tough guys in europe.
marines were effective against little yellow guys but against the Hermann Goering Panzer Division,duhh........
ps most gun collars made in the nypd were and are made by Itlo-Americans jumping out and tossin bad guys in bronx and brooklyn not drinking on the arm at every kilarney rock in midtown.
thank you,
Tony
